WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We currently offer you a Cash On Delivery Service. What this means is that you don't need to pay upfront for anything, until your products are delivered to you.

HOW DOES DELIVERY WORK?

We think shipping shouldn't be complicated, so here's our (very short) list of delivery options and rates:  

All store products (except furniture):
When Shabby Meets Chic offers FREE UAE-wide delivery on all purchases over Dh750. Orders under Dh750 will be charged a flat rate of Dh20 anywhere in the UAE (except out of city areas). We'll package and send these parcels by TFM Express courier.

Once it's on its way we will email you the tracking details and it should be delivered to your door within 1 to 3 working days.

Pickup from our Show Shed/ Click & Collect:

Pick-ups are more than welcome. We are in Mirdif (contact us on +971-50-6328 176 for location map). If you have selected the Click and Collect/Pick-up/Collect from Show-Shed option, and we haven't heard from you within the day, we will contact you to fix on a time when you can collect.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

Goods once purchased are considered final sale. There are no refunds available for any merchandise. If a product you have received is damaged, it can be exchanged for the same or similar product. In order to claim exchange for a damaged product, please follow the list below:

* Subject should be Exchange [Invoice Number]

* Please provide a detailed explanation along with photographs of the damaged item prior to opening it, or taking it out of the box.

* Please list your contact number on the email. A member of our team will contact you shortly.


Products once opened are not subject to exchange.

HOW CAN I TRACK MY ORDER?

Once your order has been approved and your package is ready to leave our warehouse, you will receive an email with an Airway Bill 'AWB' tracking code. Simply visit www.tfmex.com and enter your tracking code in the corresponding field "Track your shipment" on the Home page. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I RECEIVE MY ORDER INCORRECT OR INCOMPLETE?

Oupsies! We are human and error may occasionally happen. In the event that we could have sent you an item that is different to what you ordered, or not send you an item you have ordered, please call us immediately on +971-50-632-817 or email us on muby.astruc@ruby-and-sons.com

We'll fix the problem, at no extra charge to you.

ARE ALL YOUR PRODUCTS REALLY CRUELTY-FREE?

Yes. We take extreme care to NEVER stock a product or item that has been tested on animals, or is linked to the animal food industry. Our products are also environmentally friendly. All of our brushes are synthetic fibre. We would never use pure animal bristles on our brushes. Our paints are certified EN71:3 and EU-approved as environmentally friendly. This means no VOC, no odour and extremely safe to use around children and animals. We care about our Earth; and we care about the humans and animals that inhabit it. When Shabby Meets Chic has made it a personal mission to never sell a single product that is not cruelty-free.

CAN WHEN SHABBY MEETS CHIC CUSTOMISE FURNITURE FOR ME?

Yes, we specialise in custom jobs. Give us your vision and design style, and we shall paint your piece of furniture to match.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PREP MY FURNITURE BEFORE PAINTING IT?

Frenchic chalk paint requires none to very little prep. The surface should be clean, dry, grease-free and free of penetrating substances. A good scrub with a grease-cutter or dish-washing liquid will do the trick. A light sanding before painting is also recommended for certain pieces, however, it isn’t necessary.

CHALK PAINT CAN BE QUITE THICK. IS THERE ANY WAY TO THIN IT?

We suggest using our Frenchic Chalk and Mineral Paint ‘as is’; however, it can be thinned using water but it is best to pour the paint into another container and then add water to not contaminate the entire tin of paint with the water. We also recommend lightly spritzing your brush, instead of adding water to the paint.

WHAT ARE VOCS; AND WHAT MAKES FRENCHIC CHALK PAINT DIFFERENT?

VOC’s are volatile organic compounds that are found in many paints. These chemicals evaporate and can easily get into the air at room temperature. They are harmful to both your health and the environment. 

Frenchic is different from most other brands of chalk paint available in that it has no VOCs, which is very different from having low VOCs.


IS FRENCHIC SAFE TO USE ON CHILDREN'S FURNITURE AND TOYS?

Absolutely. Frenchic Furniture Paint has been certified as being safe to use on children’s furniture and toys as per EN71:3

WHAT IS FRENCHIC'S OUTDOOR AL FRESCO RANGE'S DURABILITY IN EXTREME CLIMATES?

Good! It has been thoroughly tested at extreme temperatures both hot and cold, including rain and snow.
Frenchic unique exterior chalk paint has been specifically developed to transform and protect outside wooden furniture; but will paint masonry, painted garage doors, UPVC, plastic garden furniture etc. Will cover in two coats but leave to dry in good weather conditions (ie not in rain). It is washable with up to 6 years performance before the first maintenance. Plain/bare metal or steel will need a base of Finishing Coat to prevent rusting and UPVC and plastic a quick sand to key. Untreated redwood, cedar, mahogany that have resin filled knots will need a coat of FC. EN:71-3 certified (childsafe). Hard wearing and no stirring or shaking or adding water. Does not require a top coat.

ARE EFEX DECORATIVE FURNITURE APPLIQUÉS REALLY BENDABLE?

Efex are the only truly bendable moldings and appliques available today. They simply flex to fit any surface they’re applied to. They can also be stretched up to 2% to ensure a tight fit. No special tools are required beyond a pair of scissors or knife and a good glue. 
Efex can be applied to almost any surface – wood, plaster, metal, glass, and terracotta. Apply your DAP glue or contact cement to back of the appliqué and to surface you’re attaching to. Press the two surfaces together. Once the glue is dry to the touch, it’s done! You can start finishing your piece once the appliqué is attached.
Don’t use epoxy or PVA glues as they will not adhere.
Efex can be painted, stained, or even gilded. Just apply your favorite products to get any look your heart desires. Water-based, oil, stain, crackle, you name it! From shabby chic, to elegant French – the possibilities are simply endless.

DO CLING-ON BRUSHES REALLY SELF-CLEANSE?

Nearly so. If you put them in water after painting, and change the water daily, yes, your bush will self-cleanse. Cling-Ons are water babies. They work best in water.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN UP STENCILS AND STAMPS AFTER USE?

As soon as you've finished using your stencils and stamps, wipe them clean with baby wipes. Then rinse out in warm water and soap.
